1 ^aBless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
2 ^bBless the Lord, O my soul,
and ^cforget not all his benefits,
3 who ^dforgives all your iniquity,
who ^eheals all your diseases,
4 who ^fredeems your life from the pit,
who ^gcrowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who ^hsatisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like ⁱthe eagle’s.

Isaiah 12:1-4

The Lord Is My Strength and My Song

1 You ^{▼▼The Hebrew for you is singular in verse 1} will say ^kin that day:
“I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
for though you were angry with me,
^lyour anger turned away,
that you might comfort me.
2 “Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for ^mthe Lord God ^{▼▼Hebrew for Yah, the Lord} is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation.”
3 ^oWith joy you ^{▼▼The Hebrew for you is plural in verses 3, 4} will draw water from the wells of salvation. 4 ^qAnd you will say in that day:

^r“Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
^smake known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim ^tthat his name is exalted.
