Psalms 103:13

13As aa father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion bto those who fear him.

Proverbs 3:12

12for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
as ca father the son in whom he delights.

Proverbs 4:1-4

A Father’s Wise Instruction

1 dHear, O sons, a father’s instruction,
and be attentive, that you may egain
Hebrew know
insight,
2for I give you good gprecepts;
do not forsake my teaching.
3When I was a son with my father,
htender, ithe only one in the sight of my mother,
4he jtaught me and said to me,
k“Let your heart hold fast my words;
lkeep my commandments, and live.

Ephesians 6:4

4Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, mbut bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 2:11

11For you know how, nlike a father with his children,

Hebrews 12:5-11

5And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?

oMy son, pdo not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6For qthe Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7It is for discipline that you have to endure. rGod is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8If you are left without discipline, sin which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to tthe Father of spirits uand live? 10For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, vthat we may share his holiness. 11 wFor the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields xthe peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
