Isaiah 63:7-14

The Lord’s Mercy Remembered

7 I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord,
the praises of the Lord,
according to all that the Lord has granted us,
^sand the great goodness to the house of Israel
that he has granted them according to his compassion,
according to the abundance of his steadfast love.
8 For he said, “Surely they are my people,
children who will not deal falsely.”
And he became their Savior.
9 ^tIn all their affliction he was afflicted, ^{▼▼Or he did not afflict}
and the angel of his presence saved them;
^vin his love and in his pity he redeemed them;
^whe lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
10 ^xBut they rebelled
^yand grieved his Holy Spirit;
therefore he turned to be their enemy,

Like a horse in the desert,
they did not stumble.
14 Like livestock that go down into the valley,

Ezekiel 20:14-17

14 But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, ^agin whose sight I had brought them out. 15 Moreover, ^ahI swore to them in the wilderness ^aithat I would not bring them into the land that I had given them, a land ^ajflowing with milk and honey, ^akthe most glorious of all lands, 16 because they rejected my rules and did not walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths; ^alfor their heart went after their idols. 17 Nevertheless, ^ammy eye spared them, and I did not destroy them or ^anmake a full end of them in the wilderness.
