Psalms 107:34

34 ^aa fruitful land into a salty waste,
because of the evil of its inhabitants.

Joel 1:10-17

10 The fields are destroyed,
^bthe ground mourns,
because ^cthe grain is destroyed,
^dthe wine dries up,
the oil languishes.

wail, O vinedressers,
for the wheat and the barley,

A Call to Repentance

13 ^jPut on sackcloth and lament, ^kO priests;

^oBecause grain offering and drink offering
are withheld from the house of your God.
14 ^pConsecrate a fast;
^qcall a solemn assembly.
Gather ^rthe elders
and ^sall the inhabitants of the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
and cry out to the Lord.
15 Alas for the day!
^tFor the day of the Lord is near,

16 Is not the food cut off
before our eyes,
^vjoy and gladness
from the house of our God?
