Psalms 107:8-43

8 aLet them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
9For he bsatisfies the longing soul,
cand the hungry soul he fills with good things.
10 dSome sat in darkness and in ethe shadow of death,
prisoners in faffliction and in irons,
11for they ghad rebelled against the words of God,
and hspurned the counsel of the Most High.
12So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor;
they fell down, iwith none to help.
13 jThen they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
14He brought them out of kdarkness and the shadow of death,
and lburst their bonds apart.
15 mLet them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
16For he nshatters the doors of bronze
and cuts in two the bars of iron.
17 Some were ofools through their sinful ways,
and because of their iniquities suffered affliction;
18 pthey loathed any kind of food,
and they qdrew near to rthe gates of death.
19 sThen they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
20He tsent out his word and uhealed them,
and vdelivered them from their destruction.
21 wLet them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
22And let them xoffer sacrifices of thanksgiving,
and ytell of his deeds in zsongs of joy!
23 Some aawent down to the sea in ships,
doing business on the great waters;
24they saw the deeds of the Lord,
his wondrous works in the deep.
25For he abcommanded and acraised the stormy wind,
which lifted up the waves of the sea.
26They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths;
their courage admelted away in their evil plight;
27they reeled and aestaggered like drunken men
and afwere at their witsend.
Hebrew  and all their wisdom was swallowed up

28 ahThen they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
29He aimade the storm be still,
and the waves of the sea were hushed.
30Then they were glad that the waters
Hebrew they
were quiet,
and he brought them to their desired haven.
31 akLet them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
32Let them alextol him in amthe congregation of the people,
and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
33 He anturns rivers into a desert,
springs of water into thirsty ground,
34 aoa fruitful land into a salty waste,
because of the evil of its inhabitants.
35He apturns a desert into pools of water,
aqa parched land into springs of water.
36And there he lets the hungry dwell,
and they establish ara city to live in;
37they sow fields and plant vineyards
and get a fruitful yield.
38 asBy his blessing they multiply greatly,
and he does not let their livestock diminish.
39 When they are diminished and brought low
through oppression, evil, and sorrow,
40 athe pours contempt on princes
and aumakes them wander avin trackless wastes;
41but awhe raises up the needy out of affliction
and axmakes their families like flocks.
42 ayThe upright see it and are glad,
and azall wickedness shuts its mouth.
43 baWhoever is wise, let him attend to these things;
let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord.
