Psalms 11

The Lord Is in His Holy Temple

To the choirmaster. Of David.

1 In the Lord I take refuge;
how can you say to my soul,
aFlee like a bird to your mountain,
2for behold, the wicked bbend the bow;
cthey have fitted their arrow to the string
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
3if dthe foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”
Or for the foundations will be destroyed; what has the righteous done?

4 fThe Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord’s gthrone is in heaven;
his eyes see, his eyelids htest the children of man.
5The Lord itests the righteous,
but jhis soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
6Let him rain coals on the wicked;
kfire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be lthe portion of their cup.
7For the Lord is righteous;
he mloves righteous deeds;
nthe upright shall behold his face.

Psalms 75

God Will Judge with Equity

To the choirmaster: according to oDo Not Destroy. pA Psalm of Asaph. A Song.

1 We give thanks to you, O God;
we give thanks, for your name is qnear.
We
Hebrew They
recount your wondrous deeds.
2 At sthe set time that I appoint
I will judge twith equity.
3When the earth utotters, and all its inhabitants,
it is I who keep steady its vpillars.  Selah
4I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
and to the wicked, w‘Do not lift up your horn;
5do not lift up your horn on high,
or speak with haughty neck.’”
6 For not from the east or from the west
and not from the wilderness comes xlifting up,
7but it is yGod who executes judgment,
zputting down one and lifting up another.
8 aaFor in the hand of the Lord there is aba cup
with foaming wine, acwell mixed,
and he pours out from it,
and all the wicked of the earth
shall addrain it down to the dregs.
9 But I will declare it forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 aeAll the horns of the wicked I will cut off,
afbut the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.
