Psalms 115:4-8

4 aTheir idols are silver and gold,
bthe work of human hands.
5They have mouths, cbut do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
6They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
7They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
and they do not make a sound in their throat.
8 dThose who make them become like them;
so do all who trust in them.

Isaiah 40:19-21

19 eAn idol! A craftsman casts it,
and a goldsmith overlays it with gold
and casts for it silver chains.
20 fHe who is too impoverished for an offering
chooses wood
Or  He chooses valuable wood
that will not rot;
he seeks out a skillful craftsman
to set up an idol that will not move.
21 hDo you not know? Do you not hear?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?

Isaiah 41:7

7 iThe craftsman strengthens the goldsmith,
and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil,
saying of the soldering, “It is good”;
and they strengthen it with nails jso that it cannot be moved.

Isaiah 44:9-10

The Folly of Idolatry

9 kAll who fashion idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit. Their witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be put to shame. 10 lWho fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing?

Isaiah 44:17

17And the rest of it he makes into a god, his idol, and falls down to it and worships it. mHe prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god!”

Or vapor, or mist

pA tree from the forest is cut down
and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman.
4 qThey decorate it with silver and gold;
rthey fasten it with hammer and nails
so that it cannot move.
5Their idols
Hebrew They
are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,
and tthey cannot speak;
uthey have to be carried,
for they cannot walk.
Do not be afraid of them,
vfor they cannot do evil,
neither is it in them to do good.”
6 wThere is none like you, O Lord;
you are great, and your name is great in might.

Jeremiah 10:11

11Thus shall you say to them: x“The gods who did not make the heavens and the earth yshall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.”
