and they do not make a sound in their throat.
8 ^dThose who make them become like them;
so do all who trust in them.

Isaiah 40:19-21

19 ^eAn idol! A craftsman casts it,
and a goldsmith overlays it with gold
and casts for it silver chains.
20 ^fHe who is too impoverished for an offering

he seeks out a skillful craftsman
to set up an idol that will not move.
21 ^hDo you not know? Do you not hear?

Isaiah 41:7

7 ⁱThe craftsman strengthens the goldsmith,
and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil,
saying of the soldering, “It is good”;

Isaiah 44:9-10

The Folly of Idolatry

9 ^kAll who fashion idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit. Their witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be put to shame. 10 ^lWho fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing?

Isaiah 44:17

17 And the rest of it he makes into a god, his idol, and falls down to it and worships it. ^mHe prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god!”

Jeremiah 10:3-6
