Jeremiah 26:12-16

12Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and all the people, saying, “The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the words you have heard. 13Now therefore bmend your ways and your deeds, cand obey the voice of the Lord your God, dand the Lord will relent of the disaster that he has pronounced against you. 14 eBut as for me, behold, I am in your hands. Do with me as seems good and right to you. 15Only know for certain that if you put me to death, fyou will bring innocent blood upon yourselves and upon this city and its inhabitants, for in truth the Lord sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.”

Daniel 3:16-18

16 iShadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17If this be so, jour God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
Or If our God whom we serve is able to deliver us, he will deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and out of your hand, O king.
18But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

Amos 7:14-17

14Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, lI was
Or am; twice in this verse
no prophet, nor a prophet’s son, but nI was a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore figs.
15 oBut the Lord took me from following the flock, and the Lord said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’ 16 pNow therefore hear the word of the Lord.

You say, q‘Do not prophesy against Israel,
and rdo not preach against the house of sIsaac.’
17 tTherefore thus says the Lord:

“‘Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city,
and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword,
and your land ushall be divided up with a measuring line;
you yourself shall die in an unclean land,
and vIsrael shall surely go into exile away from its land.’”
