Isaiah 26:16

Jeremiah 31:19

19For after fI had turned away, I relented,
and after I was instructed, gI struck my thigh;
hI was ashamed, and I was confounded,
because I bore the disgrace of my youth.’

Daniel 9:7-9

7To you, iO Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, jthose who are near and kthose who are far away, in lall the lands to which you have driven them, because of mthe treachery that they have committed against you. 8To us, O Lord, belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because nwe have sinned against you. 9 oTo the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him

Daniel 9:14

14 pTherefore the Lord has kept ready the calamity and has brought it upon us, qfor the Lord our God is righteous in all the works that he has done, and rwe have not obeyed his voice.

Hebrews 12:5-11

5And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?

sMy son, tdo not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6For uthe Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7It is for discipline that you have to endure. vGod is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8If you are left without discipline, win which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to xthe Father of spirits yand live? 10For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, zthat we may share his holiness. 11 aaFor the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields abthe peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
