81 My soul alongs for your salvation;
I bhope in your word.
82My ceyes long for your promise;

83For I have ebecome like a fwineskin in the smoke,
yet I have not forgotten your statutes.

Romans 5:3-5

3Not only that, but we grejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering hproduces endurance, 4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5and ihope does not put us to shame, because God’s love jhas been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Romans 8:24-25

24For kin this hope we were saved. Now lhope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25But if we hope for what we do not see, we mwait for it with patience.

Romans 12:12

12 nRejoice in hope, obe patient in tribulation, pbe constant in prayer.

Hebrews 6:10-19

10For qGod is not unjust so as to overlook ryour work and the love that you have shown for his name in sserving the saints, as you still do. 11And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance tof hope until the end, 12so that you may not be sluggish, but uimitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The Certainty of God’s Promise

13For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, vhe swore by himself, 14saying, wSurely I will bless you and multiply you.” 15And thus Abraham,
Greek he
yhaving patiently waited, obtained the promise.
16For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes zan oath is final for confirmation. 17So when God desired to show more convincingly to aathe heirs of the promise abthe unchangeable character of his purpose, ache guaranteed it with an oath, 18so that by two unchangeable things, in which adit is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope aeset before us. 19We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into afthe inner place behind the curtain,

Hebrews 10:35-36

35Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has aga great reward. 36For ahyou have need of endurance, so that aiwhen you have done the will of God you may ajreceive what is promised.
