they would be regarded as a strange thing.

2 Timothy 3:15-17

15and how efrom childhood you have been acquainted with fthe sacred writings, gwhich are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 hAll Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17that ithe man of God
That is, a messenger of God (the phrase echoes a common Old Testament expression)
may be complete, kequipped lfor every good work.

2 Peter 1:19-21

19And mwe have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention nas to a lamp shining in a dark place, until othe day pdawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21For qno prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God ras they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
