Psalms 120:2-6

2Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given to you,
aand what more shall be done to you,
you deceitful tongue?
4 bA warrior’s csharp arrows,
with glowing dcoals of the broom tree!
5 Woe to me, that I sojourn in eMeshech,
that I dwell among fthe tents of gKedar!
6Too long have I had my dwelling
among those who hate peace.

Jeremiah 11:19

19But I was hlike a gentle lamb
led to the slaughter.
I did not know iit was against me
they devised schemes, saying,
“Let us destroy the tree with its fruit,
jlet us cut him off from kthe land of the living,
that his name be remembered no more.”

Jeremiah 18:18

18Then they said, lCome, let us make plots against Jeremiah, mfor the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. nCome, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.”

Jeremiah 20:10

10 oFor I hear many whispering.
pTerror is on every side!
Denounce him! qLet us denounce him!”
say all my rclose friends,
swatching for tmy fall.
Perhaps he will be deceived;
then uwe can overcome him
and take our revenge on him.”
