Psalms 132

The Lord Has Chosen Zion

A Song of aAscents.

1 Remember, O Lord, in David’s favor,
all bthe hardships he endured,
2how he swore to the Lord
and cvowed to dthe Mighty One of Jacob,
3“I will not enter my house
or get into my bed,
4I will not egive sleep to my eyes
or slumber to my eyelids,
5until I ffind a place for the Lord,
a dwelling place for gthe Mighty One of Jacob.”
6 Behold, we heard of it in hEphrathah;
we found it in ithe fields of Jaar.
7“Let us go to his dwelling place;
let us jworship at his kfootstool!”
8 lArise, O Lord, and go to your mresting place,
you and the ark of your nmight.
9Let your opriests be pclothed with righteousness,
and let your qsaints shout for joy.
10For the sake of your servant David,
rdo not turn away the face of syour anointed one.
11 tThe Lord swore to David a sure oath
ufrom which he will not turn back:
v“One of the sons of your body
Hebrew  of your fruit of the womb

I will set on your throne.
12If your sons keep my covenant
and my testimonies that I shall teach them,
their sons also forever
shall xsit on your throne.”
13 For the Lord has ychosen Zion;
he has zdesired it for his dwelling place:
14This is my aaresting place forever;
here I will abdwell, for I have desired it.
15I will abundantly acbless her provisions;
I will adsatisfy her poor with bread.
16Her aepriests I will clothe with salvation,
and her afsaints will shout for joy.
17There I will make aga horn to sprout for David;
I have prepared aha lamp for aimy anointed.
18His enemies I will ajclothe with shame,
but on him his crown will shine.”
