11 aThe Lord swore to David a sure oath

I will set on your throne.

The Branch of the Lord Glorified

to establish it and to uphold it
aawith justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
abThe zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

Isaiah 11:1-5

The Righteous Reign of the Branch

1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of acJesse,
and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
2And adthe Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.
aeHe shall not judge by afwhat his eyes see,
or decide disputes by agwhat his ears hear,
4but ahwith righteousness he shall judge the poor,
and decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
and he shall aistrike the earth with the rod of his mouth,
and ajwith the breath of his lips akhe shall kill the wicked.
5Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist,
and alfaithfulness the belt of his loins.

Isaiah 40:9-11

The Greatness of God

O Zion, amherald of good news;
Or  O herald of good news to Zion

lift up your voice with strength,
O Jerusalem, herald of good news;
Or  O herald of good news to Jerusalem

lift it up, fear not;
say to the cities of Judah,
Behold your God!”
10 apBehold, the Lord God comes with might,
and his arm rules for him;
aqbehold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.
11 arHe will tend his flock like a shepherd;
ashe will gather the lambs in his arms;
athe will carry them in his bosom,
and gently lead those that are with young.

Isaiah 42:1-4

The Lord’s Chosen Servant

1 auBehold avmy servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen, awin whom my soul delights;
axI have put my Spirit upon him;
ayhe will bring forth justice to the nations.
2He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,
or make it heard in the street;
3 aza bruised reed he will not break,
and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;
bahe will faithfully bring forth justice.
4He will not grow faint or be discouraged
Or bruised

till he has established justice in the earth;
and bcthe coastlands wait for his law.

Isaiah 53:10-12
