Deliver Me, O Lord, from Evil Men

1 ^aDeliver me, O Lord, from evil men;
preserve me from ^bviolent men,
2 who plan evil things in their heart
and ^cstir up wars continually.
3 They make ^dtheir tongue sharp as ^ea serpent’s,
and ^funder their lips is the ^gvenom of asps. Selah
4 Guard me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked;
preserve me from ^hviolent men,
who have planned to trip up my feet.
5 The arrogant have ⁱhidden a trap for me,
and with cords they have spread ^ja net; ^{▼▼Or they have spread cords as a net}
beside the way they have set ^lsnares for me. Selah
6 ^mI say to the Lord, You are my God;
