Isaiah 47:6-9

6 iI was angry with my people;
I profaned my heritage;
I gave them into your hand;
jyou showed them no mercy;
on the aged you made your yoke exceedingly heavy.
7You said, “I shall be kmistress forever,”
so that you did not lay these things to heart
or remember their end.
8 Now therefore hear this, lyou lover of pleasures,
mwho sit securely,
who say in your heart,
nI am, and there is no one besides me;
oI shall not sit as a widow
or know the loss of children”:
9 pThese two things shall come to you

the loss of children and widowhood
shall come upon you in full measure,
rin spite of your many sorceries
and the great power of your enchantments.

sEven the captives of the mighty shall be taken,
and the prey of the tyrant be rescued,
for I will contend with those who contend with you,
and I will save your children.
26 tI will make your oppressors eat their own flesh,
and they shall be drunk uwith their own blood as with wine.
Then all flesh shall know
that vI am the Lord your Savior,
and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Jeremiah 50:33-34

33Thus says the Lord of hosts: wThe people of Israel are oppressed, and the people of Judah with them. All who took them captive have held them fast; xthey refuse to let them go. 34 yTheir Redeemer is strong; zthe Lord of hosts is his name. aaHe will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon.
