Isaiah 47:6-9

6 ⁱI was angry with my people;
I profaned my heritage;
I gave them into your hand;
^jyou showed them no mercy;
on the aged you made your yoke exceedingly heavy.
7 You said, “I shall be ^kmistress forever,”
so that you did not lay these things to heart
or remember their end.
8 Now therefore hear this, ^lyou lover of pleasures,
^mwho sit securely,
who say in your heart,
ⁿ“I am, and there is no one besides me;
^oI shall not sit as a widow
or know the loss of children”:
9 ^pThese two things shall come to you
in a moment, ^qin one day;
the loss of children and widowhood
shall come upon you in full measure,

and the great power of your enchantments.

Isaiah 49:25-26

25 For thus says the Lord:
^s“Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken,
and the prey of the tyrant be rescued,
for I will contend with those who contend with you,
and I will save your children.
26 ^tI will make your oppressors eat their own flesh,
and they shall be drunk ^uwith their own blood as with wine.
Then all flesh shall know
that ^vI am the Lord your Savior,
and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Jeremiah 50:33-34

33 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ^wThe people of Israel are oppressed, and the people of Judah with them.
