8 ^dWhy do you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, ^emaking offerings to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have come to live, so that you may be cut off and become ^fa curse and a taunt among all the nations of the earth?

Jeremiah 44:15

15 Then all the men who knew that ^gtheir wives had made offerings to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, all the people who lived in ^hPathros in the land of Egypt, answered Jeremiah:

Jeremiah 44:19-21

19 And the women said, ^{▼▼Compare Syriac; Hebrew lacks And the women said} “When we made offerings to the queen of heaven ^jand poured out drink offerings to her, was it ^kwithout our husbands’ approval that we made cakes for her bearing her image and poured out drink offerings to her?”

20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, ^lmen and women, all the people who had given him this answer: 21 ^m“As for the offerings that you offered in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your officials, and the people of the land, ⁿdid not the Lord remember them? Did it not come into his mind?

Luke 1:9-11

9 according to the custom of the priesthood, he was chosen by lot ^oto enter ^pthe temple of the Lord and burn incense. 10 And the whole multitude of the people ^qwere praying ^routside at the hour of incense. 11 And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of ^sthe altar of incense.

Revelation of John 8:3-5

3 And another angel came and stood ^tat the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with ^uthe prayers of all the saints on ^vthe golden altar before the throne, 4 and ^wthe smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. 5 Then the angel took the censer and ^xfilled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and ^ythere were peals of ^zthunder, rumblings, ^{▼▼Or voices, or sounds} flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
