Psalms 142:3-7

3 When my spirit ^afaints within me,
you know my way!
In the path where I walk
they have ^bhidden a trap for me.
4 ^cLook to the ^dright and see:
^ethere is none who takes notice of me;
^fno refuge remains to me;
no one cares for my soul.
5 I cry to you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my ^grefuge,
my ^hportion in ⁱthe land of the living.”
6 ^jAttend to my cry,
for ^kI am brought very low!
Deliver me from my persecutors,
^lfor they are too strong for me!
7 ^mBring me out of prison,
that I may give thanks to your name!
The righteous will surround me,
for you will ⁿdeal bountifully with me.

Jeremiah 38:6

6 So they took Jeremiah ^oand cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in ^pthe court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down ^qby ropes. ^rAnd there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and ^sJeremiah sank in the mud.

Jonah 2:2-4

2 saying,

The Philippian Jailer Converted

25 ^acAbout midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, 26 and suddenly ^adthere was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately ^aeall the doors were opened, and ^afeveryone’s bonds were unfastened. 27 When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and ^agwas about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.”
