3 For the enemy has pursued my soul;
^ahe has crushed my life to the ground;
^bhe has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.

7 ^cAnswer me quickly, O Lord!
^dMy spirit fails!
^eHide not your face from me,
^flest I be like those who go down to the pit.
