1 aPraise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!

4When ghis breath departs, he returns to the earth;
on that very day his plans perish.
5 hBlessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose ihope is in the Lord his God,
6 jwho made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
kwho keeps faith forever;
7 lwho executes justice for the oppressed,
mwho gives food to the hungry.
nThe Lord sets the prisoners free;
8 othe Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
pThe Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
qthe Lord loves the righteous.
9 rThe Lord watches over the sojourners;
