The Value of Wisdom

1 bMy son, cif you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
2making your ear attentive to wisdom
and inclining your heart to understanding;
3yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice dfor understanding,
4if you seek it like esilver
and search for it as for fhidden treasures,
5then gyou will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
6For hthe Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
7he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is ia shield to those who jwalk in integrity,
8guarding the paths of justice
and kwatching over the way of his lsaints.
9 mThen you will understand nrighteousness and justice
and equity, every good path;

Proverbs 3:18

18She is oa tree of life to those who play hold of her;
those who hold her fast are called blessed.

21 My son, qdo not lose sight of these—
