Matthew 5:28

28 But I say to you that ^keveryone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Matthew 22:37-40

37 And he said to him, ^l“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And ^ma second is like it: ⁿYou shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 ^oOn these two commandments depend ^pall the Law and the Prophets.”

Mark 12:29-34

Romans 7:7-12

The Law and Sin

7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, ^abI would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if ^acthe law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, ^adseizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. ^aeFor apart from the law, sin lies dead. 9 I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died. 10 The very commandment ^afthat promised life proved to be death to me. 11 For sin, ^agseizing an opportunity through the commandment, ^ahdeceived me and through it killed me. 12 So ^aithe law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

Romans 7:14

14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, ^ajsold under sin.

Hebrews 4:12-13
