The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 aWhy do bthe nations rage
Or  nations noisily assemble

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his dAnointed, saying,

Psalms 56:6

6They estir up strife, they flurk;
they gwatch my steps,
as they have waited for my life.

Psalms 64:4-6

4shooting from hambush at the blameless,
shooting at him suddenly and iwithout fear.
5They jhold fast to their evil purpose;
they talk of klaying snares secretly,
thinking, lWho can see them?”
6They search out injustice,
saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.”
For mthe inward mind and heart of a man are deep.

Psalms 94:20-21

20Can nwicked rulers be allied with you,
those who frame injustice by ostatute?
21They pband together against the life of the righteous
and condemn qthe innocent to death.
Hebrew  condemn innocent blood

Jeremiah 11:19

19But I was slike a gentle lamb
led to the slaughter.
I did not know tit was against me
they devised schemes, saying,
“Let us destroy the tree with its fruit,
ulet us cut him off from vthe land of the living,
that his name be remembered no more.”

Jeremiah 18:18-20

18Then they said, wCome, let us make plots against Jeremiah, xfor the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. yCome, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.”

19 Hear me, O Lord,
and zlisten to the voice of my adversaries.
20 aaShould good be repaid with evil?
Yet abthey have dug a pit for my life.
acRemember how I stood before you
to speak good for them,
to turn away your wrath from them.

Matthew 21:45-46

45When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking about them. 46And adalthough they were seeking to arrest him, aethey feared the crowds, because they held him to be afa prophet.
