Psalms 2:1-3

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 aWhy do bthe nations rage
Or  nations noisily assemble

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his dAnointed, saying,
3“Let us eburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”

Psalms 83:3-11

3They lay fcrafty plans against your people;
they consult together against your gtreasured ones.
4They say, “Come, hlet us wipe them out as a nation;
let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
5For they conspire with one accord;
against you they make a covenant
6the tents of iEdom and jthe Ishmaelites,
kMoab and lthe Hagrites,
7 mGebal and nAmmon and oAmalek,
pPhilistia with the inhabitants of qTyre;
8 rAsshur also has joined them;
they are the strong arm of sthe children of Lot.  Selah
9 Do to them as you did to tMidian,
as to uSisera and Jabin at vthe river Kishon,
10who were destroyed at wEn-dor,
who became xdung for the ground.
11Make their nobles like yOreb and Zeeb,
all their princes like zZebah and Zalmunna,

Isaiah 8:9-10

9 Be broken,
Or  Be evil
you peoples, and abbe shattered;
Or dismayed

give ear, all you far countries;
strap on your armor and be shattered;
strap on your armor and be shattered.
10Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing;
speak a word, adbut it will not stand,
for God aeis with us.
The Hebrew for  God is with us is Immanuel
