Psalms 2:1-3

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 aWhy do bthe nations rage
Or  nations noisily assemble

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his dAnointed, saying,
3“Let us eburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”

Isaiah 34:1-10

Judgment on the Nations

1 Draw near, fO nations, to hear,
and give attention, O peoples!
Let the earth hear, and all that fills it;
the world, and all that comes from it.
2For the Lord is enraged against all the nations,
and furious against all their host;
he has gdevoted them to destruction,
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction); also verse 5
has given them over for slaughter.
3Their slain shall be cast out,
and ithe stench of their corpses shall rise;
jthe mountains shall flow with their blood.
4 kAll the host of heaven shall rot away,
and the skies roll up like a scroll.
All their host shall fall,
as leaves fall from the vine,
like leaves falling from the fig tree.
5 For my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens;
behold, it descends for judgment upon lEdom,
upon the people mI have devoted to destruction.
6The Lord has a sword; it is sated with blood;
it is gorged with fat,
with the blood of lambs and goats,
with the fat of the kidneys of rams.
nFor the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah,
a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 oWild oxen shall pfall with them,
and qyoung steers with rthe mighty bulls.
Their land shall drink its fill of blood,
and their soil shall be gorged with fat.
8 sFor the Lord has a day of vengeance,
a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
9 tAnd the streams of Edom
Hebrew her streams
shall be turned into pitch,
and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.
10Night and day vit shall not be quenched;
wits smoke shall go up forever.
xFrom generation to generation it shall lie waste;
none shall pass through it forever and ever.

Isaiah 63:1-6

The Lord’s Day of Vengeance

1 Who is this who comes from yEdom,
in crimsoned garments from zBozrah,
he who is splendid in his apparel,
aamarching in the greatness of his strength?
“It is I, speaking in righteousness,
mighty to save.”
2 Why is your abapparel red,
and your garments like his acwho treads in the winepress?
3 ad“I have trodden the winepress alone,
aeand from the peoples no one was with me;
I trod them in my anger
and trampled them in my wrath;
their lifeblood
Or  their juice; also verse 6
spattered on my garments,
and stained all my apparel.
4 agFor the day of vengeance was in my heart,
and my year of redemption
Or the year of my redeemed
had come.
5I looked, but aithere was no one to help;
I was appalled, but there was no one to uphold;
so my own arm brought me salvation,
and my wrath upheld me.
6I trampled down the peoples in my anger;
ajI made them drunk in my wrath,
and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”

Revelation of John 11:2

2but do not measure akthe court outside the temple; leave that out, for alit is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for amforty-two months.

Revelation of John 11:9-10

9For three and a half days some from the peoples and tribes and languages and nations will gaze at their dead bodies and anrefuse to let them be placed in a tomb, 10and aothose who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and make merry and apexchange presents, because these two prophets aqhad been a torment to those who dwell on the earth.

Revelation of John 17:12-15

12And arthe ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings asfor one hour, together with the beast. 13These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast. 14They atwill make war on the Lamb, and authe Lamb will conquer them, for he is avLord of lords and awKing of kings, and those with him are axcalled and chosen and faithful.”

15And the angel
Greek he
said to me, az“The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.
