Psalms 2:1-4

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 aWhy do bthe nations rage
Or  nations noisily assemble

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his dAnointed, saying,
3“Let us eburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who fsits in the heavens glaughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.

16But pthey have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, qLord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17So rfaith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

18But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for

sTheir voice has gone out tto all the earth,
and their words to the ends of the world.”

Romans 15:18-22

18For I will not venture to speak of anything except uwhat Christ has accomplished through me vto bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, 19 wby the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that xfrom Jerusalem and all the way around yto Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ; 20and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, zlest I build on someone else’s foundation, 21but as it is written,

aa“Those who have never been told of him will see,
and those who have never heard will understand.”

Paul’s Plan to Visit Rome
