Psalms 2:1-6

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 aWhy do bthe nations rage
Or  nations noisily assemble

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his dAnointed, saying,
3“Let us eburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who fsits in the heavens glaughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5Then he will speak to them in his hwrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6“As for me, I have iset my King
on jZion, my kholy hill.”

Psalms 21:8-9

8 Your hand will lfind out all your enemies;
your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9You will make them as ma blazing oven
when you appear.
The Lord will swallow them up in his nwrath,
and ofire will consume them.

Psalms 109:3-31

3They encircle me with words of hate,
and attack me pwithout cause.
4In return for my love they qaccuse me,
but I rgive myself to prayer.
Hebrew  but I am prayer

5So they treward me evil for good,
and hatred for my love.
6 uAppoint a wicked man vagainst him;
let an accuser stand wat his right hand.
7When he is tried, let him come forth guilty;
let his xprayer be counted as sin!
8May his ydays be few;
may zanother take his aaoffice!
9May his abchildren be fatherless
and his wife a widow!
10May his children acwander about and beg,
adseeking food far from the ruins they inhabit!
11May aethe creditor seize all that he has;
may afstrangers plunder the fruits of his toil!
12Let there be none to agextend kindness to him,
nor any to ahpity his fatherless children!
13May his aiposterity be cut off;
may his ajname be blotted out in the second generation!
14May akthe iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord,
and let not the sin of his mother be alblotted out!
15 amLet them be before the Lord continually,
that he may ancut off the memory of them from the earth!
16 For he did not remember to show kindness,
but pursued aothe poor and needy
and apthe brokenhearted, to put them to death.
17 aqHe loved to curse; let curses come
Revocalization; Masoretic Text curses have come
upon him!
He did not delight in blessing; may it be far
Revocalization; Masoretic Text it is far
from him!
18He atclothed himself with cursing as his coat;
may it ausoak
Revocalization; Masoretic Text it has soaked
into his body like water,
like oil into his bones!
19May it be like a garment that he wraps around him,
like a belt that he puts on every day!
20May this be the reward of my awaccusers from the Lord,
of those who speak evil against my life!
21 But you, O God my Lord,
deal on my behalf axfor your name’s sake;
because your aysteadfast love is good, deliver me!
22For I am azpoor and needy,
and my heart is stricken within me.
23I am gone like baa shadow at evening;
I am bbshaken off like a locust.
24My knees are weak bcthrough fasting;
my bdbody has become gaunt, with no fat.
25I am bean object of scorn to my accusers;
when they see me, they bfwag their heads.
26 bgHelp me, O Lord my God!
Save me according to your steadfast love!
27Let them bhknow that this is your hand;
you, O Lord, have done it!
28 biLet them curse, but you will bless!
They arise and are put to shame, but bjyour servant will be glad!
29May my accusers be bkclothed with dishonor;
may they blbe wrapped in their own shame as in a cloak!
30 With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord;
I will bmpraise him in the midst of the throng.
31For he stands bnat the right hand of the needy one,
to save him from those who condemn his soul to death.
