Psalms 2:1-6

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 aWhy do bthe nations rage
Or  nations noisily assemble

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his dAnointed, saying,
3“Let us eburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who fsits in the heavens glaughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5Then he will speak to them in his hwrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6“As for me, I have iset my King
on jZion, my kholy hill.”

Isaiah 54:15

15 lIf anyone stirs up strife,
it is not from me;
whoever stirs up strife with you
shall fall because of you.

Ezekiel 38:9-10

9You will advance, coming on mlike a storm. You will be nlike a cloud covering the land, you and all your ohordes, and many peoples with you.

10Thus says the Lord God: On that day, pthoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme

Matthew 16:18

18And I tell you, qyou are Peter, and ron this rock
The Greek words for  Peter and  rock sound similar
I will build my church, and tthe gates of uhell
Greek  the gates of Hades
shall not prevail against it.

John 10:28-30

28 wI give them eternal life, and xthey will never perish, and yno one will snatch them out of my hand. 29My Father, zwho has given them to me,
Some manuscripts What my Father has given to me
abis greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of acthe Father’s hand.
30 adI and the Father are one.”

Romans 8:1

Life in the Spirit

1There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Some manuscripts add who walk not according to the flesh (but according to the Spirit)

Romans 8:28-39

28And we know that for those who love God all things work together affor good,
Some manuscripts  God works all things together for good, or God works in all things for the good
for ahthose who are called according to his purpose.
29For those whom he aiforeknew he also ajpredestined akto be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be althe firstborn among many brothers. 30And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also amjustified, and those whom he justified he also anglorified.

God’s Everlasting Love

31What then shall we say to these things? aoIf God is for us, who can be
Or  who is
against us?
32 aqHe who did not spare his own Son but argave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? asIt is God who justifies. 34 atWho is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raisedauwho is at the right hand of God, avwho indeed is interceding for us.
Or Is it Christ Jesus who died . . . for us?
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36As it is written,

ax“For your sake aywe are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37No, in all these things we are more than azconquerors through bahim who loved us. 38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
