The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 aWhy do bthe nations rage
Or  nations noisily assemble

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his dAnointed, saying,
3“Let us eburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who fsits in the heavens glaughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5Then he will speak to them in his hwrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6“As for me, I have iset my King
on jZion, my kholy hill.”

Matthew 12:14

14But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him.

Matthew 21:38

38But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, lThis is the heir. Come, mlet us kill him and have his inheritance.’

4And he said to them, n“Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

6 oThe Pharisees went out and immediately pheld counsel with qthe Herodians against him, how to destroy him.

16And this was why the Jews rwere persecuting Jesus, sbecause he was doing these things on the Sabbath.

Jesus Is Equal with God

18This was why the Jews twere seeking all the more to kill him, ubecause not only was he vbreaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God whis own Father, xmaking himself equal with God.

25Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said, “Is not this the man whom ythey seek to kill?

John 10:31-32

31 zThe Jews picked up stones again to stone him. 32Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?”

John 10:39

39 aaAgain they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.

John 11:53

53So from that day on they abmade plans to put him to death.
