James Killed and Peter Imprisoned

1About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. 2He killed kJames the brother of John lwith the sword, 3and when he saw mthat it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. This was during nthe days of Unleavened Bread. 4And when he had seized him, he put him oin prison, delivering him over to four psquads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people. 5So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest qprayer for him was made to God by the church.

Peter Is Rescued

6Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, rbound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison.

Revelation of John 17:12-14

12And sthe ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings tfor one hour, together with the beast. 13These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast. 14They uwill make war on the Lamb, and vthe Lamb will conquer them, for he is wLord of lords and xKing of kings, and those with him are ycalled and chosen and faithful.”
