19But dwhen her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and edragged them into the marketplace before the rulers. 20And when they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men are Jews, and they are disturbing our city. 21They fadvocate customs that are not lawful for us gas Romans to accept or practice.” 22The crowd joined in attacking them, and the magistrates tore the garments off them and gave orders hto beat them with rods. 23And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely. 24Having received this order, he put them into the inner iprison and fastened their feet in jthe stocks.

Acts 21:28-31

28crying out, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who kis teaching everyone everywhere against the people and lthe law and mthis place. Moreover, he even brought Greeks into the temple and nhas defiled othis holy place.” 29For they had previously seen pTrophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple. 30Then all the city was stirred up, and the people ran together. They seized Paul and qdragged him out of the temple, and at once the gates were shut. 31 rAnd as they were seeking to kill him, word came to the tribune of sthe cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.

Revelation of John 12:12

12Therefore, trejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But uwoe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because vhe knows that his time is short!”
