and from eprophet to priest,
everyone deals falsely.

Ezekiel 22:6-8

6Behold, fthe princes of Israel in you, every one according to his power, have been bent on shedding blood. 7Father and mother gare treated with contempt in you; the sojourner hsuffers extortion in your midst; the fatherless and the widow iare wronged in you. 8 jYou have despised my holy things and kprofaned my Sabbaths.

Ezekiel 22:25-29

25 lThe conspiracy of her prophets in her midst is mlike a roaring lion ntearing the prey; they have devoured human lives; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in her midst. 26 oHer priests phave done violence to my law and qhave profaned my holy things. rThey have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and sthey have disregarded my Sabbaths, tso that I am profaned among them. 27 uHer princes in her midst are like wolves vtearing the prey, wshedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain. 28And xher prophets have smeared whitewash for them, yseeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord has not spoken. 29The people of the land zhave practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy, and aahave extorted from the sojourner without justice.

Micah 3:1-4

Rulers and Prophets Denounced

1 And I said:
abHear, you heads of Jacob
and rulers of the house of Israel!
acIs it not for you to know justice?—
2you adwho hate the good and love the evil,
aewho tear the skin from off my people
Hebrew  from off them

and their flesh from off their bones,
3 agwho eat the flesh of my people,
and flay their skin from off them,
and break their bones in pieces
and chop them up like meat in a pot,
like flesh in a cauldron.
4 ahThen they will cry to the Lord,
but he will not answer them;
aihe will hide his face from them at that time,
because they have made their deeds evil.

Micah 3:11

11 ajIts heads give judgment for a bribe;
akits priests teach for a price;
alits prophets practice divination for money;
amyet they lean on the Lord and ansay,
“Is not the Lord in the midst of us?
aoNo disaster shall come upon us.”

Micah 7:3-4

3 apTheir hands are on what is evil, to do it well;
aqthe prince and arthe judge ask for a bribe,
and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul;
thus they weave it together.
4The best of them is aslike a brier,
the most upright of them a thorn hedge.
The day of atyour watchmen, of your punishment, has come;
aunow their confusion is at hand.

Zephaniah 3:3-5

3 avHer officials within her
are roaring lions;
her judges are awevening wolves
that leave nothing till the morning.
4 axHer prophets are fickle, treacherous men;
ayher priests azprofane what is holy;
they do violence to the law.
5The Lord within her bais righteous;
he does no injustice;
every morning he shows forth his justice;
each dawn he does not fail;
but bbthe unjust knows no shame.
