2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his aAnointed, saying,
3“Let us bburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who csits in the heavens dlaughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5Then he will speak to them in his ewrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6“As for me, I have fset my King
on gZion, my hholy hill.”

Psalms 2:9-12

9You shall ibreak

10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 mServe the Lord with nfear,

lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his swrath is quickly kindled.
tBlessed are all who take refuge in him.

Psalms 45:4-5

4 In your majesty uride out victoriously
for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness;
let your right hand teach you vawesome deeds!
5Your arrows are sharp
in the heart of the king’s enemies;
the peoples fall under you.

Psalms 68:14

14When the Almighty scatters kings there,
let snow fall on wZalmon.

30Rebuke xthe beasts that dwell among the reeds,
the herd of ybulls with the calves of the peoples.

7to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,
8to bind their kings with abchains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9to execute on them the judgment acwritten!

Zechariah 9:9-10

The Coming King of Zion

9 afRejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!
agBehold, ahyour king is coming to you;
righteous and having salvation is he,
aihumble and mounted on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
10 ajI will cut off the chariot from Ephraim
and akthe war horse from Jerusalem;
and the battle bow shall be cut off,
and alhe shall speak peace to the nations;
amhis rule shall be from sea to sea,
and from anthe River to the ends of the earth.

Zechariah 9:13-15

13For aoI have bent Judah as my bow;
I have made Ephraim its arrow.
I will stir up your sons, O Zion,
against your sons, apO Greece,
and wield you like a warrior’s sword.

The Lord Will Save His People

14 Then the Lord will appear over them,
and aqhis arrow will go forth like lightning;
arthe Lord God will sound the trumpet
and will march forth in asthe whirlwinds atof the south.
15The Lord of hosts auwill protect them,
and avthey shall devour, awand tread down the sling stones,
and axthey shall drink and roar as if drunk with wine,
and be full like a bowl,
drenched aylike the corners of the altar.
