Psalms 2:6-12

6“As for me, I have aset my King
on bZion, my choly hill.”
7 I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, d“You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
8Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and ethe ends of the earth your possession.
9You shall fbreak
Revocalization yields (compare Septuagint)  You shall rule
them with ha rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like ia potter’s vessel.”
10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 jServe the Lord with kfear,
and lrejoice with mtrembling.
12 nKiss othe Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his pwrath is quickly kindled.
qBlessed are all who take refuge in him.

Psalms 72:1-19

Give the King Your Justice

Of rSolomon.

1 Give the king your sjustice, O God,
and your righteousness to the royal son!
2May he tjudge your people with righteousness,
and your poor with justice!
3Let the mountains bear uprosperity for the people,
and the hills, in righteousness!
4May he defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the children of the needy,
and crush the oppressor!
5 May they fear you
Septuagint He shall endure
while wthe sun endures,
and as long as the moon, xthroughout all generations!
6May he be like yrain that falls on zthe mown grass,
like aashowers that water the earth!
7In his days may abthe righteous flourish,
and acpeace abound, till the moon be no more!
8 May he have dominion from adsea to sea,
and from aethe River
That is,  the Euphrates
to the agends of the earth!
9May desert tribes ahbow down before him,
and his enemies ailick the dust!
10May the kings of ajTarshish and of akthe coastlands
render him altribute;
may the kings of amSheba and anSeba
bring gifts!
11May all kings aofall down before him,
all nations serve him!
12 For he delivers apthe needy when he calls,
the poor and him who has no helper.
13He has pity on the weak and the needy,
and saves the lives of the needy.
14From oppression and violence he redeems their life,
and aqprecious is their blood in his sight.
15 Long may he live;
may argold of Sheba be given to him!
May prayer be made asfor him continually,
and blessings invoked for him all the day!
16May there be abundance of grain in the land;
on the tops of the mountains may it wave;
may its fruit be like Lebanon;
and may people atblossom in the cities
like the augrass of the field!
17 avMay his name endure forever,
his fame continue as long as the sun!
awMay people be blessed in him,
axall nations call him blessed!
18 ayBlessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
who alone does azwondrous things.
19Blessed be his baglorious name forever;
may bbthe whole earth be filled with his glory!

Isaiah 7:14

14Therefore the bdLord himself will give you a sign. beBehold, the bfvirgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name bgImmanuel.
 Immanuel means God is with us

Isaiah 9:6-7

6 biFor to us a child is born,
to us bja son is given;
bkand the government shall be blupon
Or is upon
his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Or is called

Wonderful boCounselor, bpMighty God,
bqEverlasting brFather, Prince of bsPeace.
7Of the increase of his government and of peace
btthere will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
buwith justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
bvThe zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

Jeremiah 23:5-6

5 bwBehold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous bxBranch, and byhe shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6In his days Judah will be saved, and bzIsrael will cadwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: cb‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

Jeremiah 33:14-15

The Lord’s Eternal Covenant with David

14 ccBehold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when cdI will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 15In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous ceBranch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
