Jesus Is Equal with God

18This was why the Jews adwere seeking all the more to kill him, aebecause not only was he afbreaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God aghis own Father, ahmaking himself equal with God.

The Authority of the Son

19So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, aithe Son ajcan do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father
Greek he
does, that the Son does likewise.
20For althe Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And amgreater works than these will he show him, so that anyou may marvel. 21For as the Father aoraises the dead and apgives them life, so aqalso the Son gives life arto whom he will. 22 asFor the Father judges no one, but athas given all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son, just as they auhonor the Father. avWhoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. 24Truly, truly, I say to you, awwhoever hears my word and axbelieves him who sent me has eternal life. He aydoes not come into judgment, but azhas passed from death to life.

25Truly, truly, I say to you, baan hour is coming, and is now here, when bbthe dead will hear bcthe voice of the Son of God, and those who hear bdwill live.
