Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

1 May the Lord aanswer you in the day of trouble!
May bthe name of the God of Jacob cprotect you!
2May he send you help from dthe sanctuary
and give you support from eZion!
3May he fremember all your offerings
and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices!  Selah
4 May he ggrant you your heart’s desire
and fulfill all your plans!
5May we shout for joy over hyour salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our ibanners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!
6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with jthe saving might of his right hand.
7Some trust in kchariots and some in lhorses,
mbut we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
8They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.
9 O Lord, save nthe king!
May he answer us when we call.

Psalms 77

In the Day of Trouble I Seek the Lord

To the choirmaster: according to oJeduthun. A Psalm of pAsaph.

1 I qcry aloud to God,
aloud to God, and he will hear me.
2 rIn the day of my trouble I seek the Lord;
in sthe night my thand is stretched out without wearying;
my soul urefuses to be comforted.
3When I remember God, I vmoan;
when I meditate, my spirit faints.  Selah
4 You hold my eyelids open;
I am so wtroubled that I cannot speak.
5I consider xthe days of old,
the years long ago.
6I said,
Hebrew lacks  I said
“Let me remember my zsong in the night;
let me aameditate in my heart.”
Then my spirit made a diligent search:
7“Will the Lord abspurn forever,
and never again acbe favorable?
8Has his steadfast love forever ceased?
Are his adpromises at an end for all time?
9 aeHas God forgotten to be gracious?
afHas he in anger shut up his compassion?”  Selah
10 Then I said, “I will appeal to this,
to the years of the agright hand of the Most High.”
Or This is my grief: that the right hand of the Most High has changed

11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will airemember your wonders of old.
12I will ponder all your ajwork,
and meditate on your akmighty deeds.
13Your way, O God, is alholy.
amWhat god is great like our God?
14You are the God who anworks wonders;
you have aomade known your might among the peoples.
15You apwith your arm redeemed your people,
the children of Jacob and Joseph.  Selah
16 When aqthe waters saw you, O God,
when the waters saw you, they were afraid;
indeed, the deep trembled.
17The clouds poured out water;
the skies argave forth thunder;
your asarrows flashed on every side.
18 atThe crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind;
auyour lightnings lighted up the world;
the earth avtrembled and shook.
19Your awway was through the sea,
your path through the great waters;
yet your footprints axwere unseen.
