1 aMy God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Psalms 31:22

22I had said in my dalarm,
Or  in my haste

“I am fcut off from gyour sight.”
But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy
when I cried to you for help.

Psalms 77:6-9

6I said,
Hebrew lacks  I said
“Let me remember my isong in the night;
let me jmeditate in my heart.”
Then my spirit made a diligent search:
7“Will the Lord kspurn forever,
and never again lbe favorable?
8Has his steadfast love forever ceased?
Are his mpromises at an end for all time?
9 nHas God forgotten to be gracious?
oHas he in anger shut up his compassion?”  Selah

Psalms 89:38-46

38 But now you have pcast off and rejected;
you are full of wrath against your qanointed.
39You have rrenounced sthe covenant with your servant;
you have tdefiled his ucrown in the dust.
40You have vbreached all his walls;
you have laid his strongholds in ruins.
41 wAll who pass by plunder him;
he has become xthe scorn of his neighbors.
42You have exalted the right hand of his foes;
you have made all his enemies rejoice.
43You have also turned back the edge of his sword,
and you have not made him stand in battle.
44You have made his splendor to cease
and cast his throne to the ground.
45You have cut short ythe days of his youth;
you have zcovered him with shame.  Selah
46 aaHow long, O Lord? Will you hide yourself forever?
How long will your wrath abburn like fire?

Isaiah 40:27

27 Why do you say, O Jacob,
and speak, O Israel,
ac“My way is hidden from the Lord,
adand my right is disregarded by my God”?

Romans 11:1-5

The Remnant of Israel

1I ask, then, aehas God rejected his people? By no means! For afI myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham,
Or one of the offspring of Abraham
a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 ahGod has not rejected his people whom he aiforeknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel? 3 ajLord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.” 4But what is God’s reply to him? ak“I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5So too at the present time there is ala remnant, chosen by grace.
