To the choirmaster: according to The Doe of the Dawn. A Psalm of David.

1 aMy God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so bfar from saving me, from the words of my cgroaning?
2O my God, I cry by dday, but you do not answer,
and by night, but I find no rest.

Psalms 42:7-9

7Deep calls to deep
at the roar of your waterfalls;
eall your breakers and your fwaves
have gone over me.
8By day the Lord gcommands his steadfast love,
and at hnight his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life.
9I say to God, imy rock:
Why have you forgotten me?
jWhy do I go mourning
because of the oppression of the enemy?”

Psalms 43:2-5

2For you are kthe God in whom I take refuge;
why have you lrejected me?
Why do I mgo about mourning
because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 nSend out your light and your truth;
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your oholy hill
and to your pdwelling!
4Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God my exceeding joy,
and I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God.
5 qWhy are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
rHope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God.

7“Will the Lord sspurn forever,
and never again tbe favorable?
8Has his steadfast love forever ceased?
Are his upromises at an end for all time?
9 vHas God forgotten to be gracious?
wHas he in anger shut up his compassion?”  Selah
10 Then I said, “I will appeal to this,
to the years of the xright hand of the Most High.”
