Psalms 22:6-7

6 But I am aa worm and not a man,
bscorned by mankind and cdespised by the people.
7All who see me dmock me;
they make mouths at me; they ewag their heads;

15my strength is fdried up like a potsherd,

you lay me in the dust of death.

Isaiah 53:2-5

2For he grew up before him like a young plant,
pand like a root out of dry ground;
qhe had no form or majesty that we should look at him,

Or forsaken
by men,
a man of sorrows,
Or pains; also verse 4
and acquainted with
Or  and knowing
grief;
Or sickness; also verse 4

and as one from whom men hide their faces
Or  as one who hides his face from us

he was despised, and xwe esteemed him not.
4 ySurely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
zsmitten by God, and afflicted.
5 aaBut he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
aband with his wounds we are healed.

Matthew 26:67

67Then acthey spit in his face adand aestruck him. And some slapped him,

29and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they afmocked him, saying, “Hail, agKing of the Jews!” 30And ahthey spit on him and took the reed and struck him on the head.
