The Lord Is My Shepherd

A Psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my ashepherd; I shall not bwant.
2He makes me lie down in green cpastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
Hebrew  beside waters of rest

3He erestores my soul.
He fleads me in gpaths of righteousness
Or  in right paths

for his iname’s sake.
4 Even though I jwalk through the valley of kthe shadow of death,
Or  the valley of deep darkness

I will mfear no evil,
for nyou are with me;
your orod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You pprepare a table before me
in qthe presence of my enemies;
you ranoint my head with oil;
my scup overflows.
6Surely
Or Only
goodness and mercy
Or steadfast love
shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall vdwell
Or  shall return to dwell
in the house of the Lord
xforever.
Hebrew for length of days

John 10:1-18

I Am the Good Shepherd

1Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. 2But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 zA stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6This figure of speech Jesus aaused with them, but they abdid not understand what he was saying to them.

7So Jesus again said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, acI am the door of the sheep. 8All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9I am the door. If anyone enters by me, adhe will be saved and will go in and out and aefind pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and afkill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 agI am the good shepherd. The good shepherd ahlays down his life for the sheep. 12He who is aia hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and ajleaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and akscatters them. 13He flees because alhe is a hired hand and amcares nothing for the sheep. 14 anI am the good shepherd. aoI know my own and apmy own know me, 15 aqjust as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and arI lay down my life for the sheep. 16And asI have other sheep that are not of this fold. atI must bring them also, and authey will listen to my voice. So there will be avone flock, awone shepherd. 17 axFor this reason the Father loves me, aybecause azI lay down my life that I may take it up again. 18 baNo one takes it from me, but bbI lay it down bcof my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and bdI have authority to take it up again. beThis charge I have received from my Father.”
