Psalms 105

Tell of All His Wonderful Works

1 tOh give thanks to the Lord; ucall upon his name;
vmake known his deeds among the peoples!
2Sing to him, sing praises to him;
wtell of all his wondrous works!
3Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
4Seek the Lord and his xstrength;
yseek his presence continually!
5Remember the zwondrous works that he has done,
his miracles, and aathe judgments he uttered,
6O offspring of abAbraham, his servant,
children of Jacob, his acchosen ones!
7 He is the Lord our God;
his adjudgments are in all the earth.
8He aeremembers his covenant forever,
the word that he commanded, for afa thousand generations,
9 agthe covenant that he made with Abraham,
his ahsworn promise to Isaac,
10which he confirmed to aiJacob as a statute,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11saying, aj“To you I will give the land of Canaan
as akyour portion for an inheritance.”
12 When they were alfew in number,
of little account, and amsojourners in it,
13wandering from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to another people,
14he anallowed no one to oppress them;
he aorebuked kings on their account,
15saying, apTouch not my anointed ones,
do my prophets no harm!”
16 When he aqsummoned a famine on the land
and arbroke all supply
Hebrew staff
of bread,
17he had atsent a man ahead of them,
Joseph, who was ausold as a slave.
18His avfeet were hurt with fetters;
his neck was put in a collar of iron;
19until awwhat he had said came to pass,
the word of the Lord axtested him.
20 ayThe king sent and azreleased him;
the ruler of the peoples set him free;
21he bamade him lord of his house
and ruler of all his possessions,
22to bind
Septuagint, Syriac, Jerome instruct
his princes at his pleasure
and to teach his elders wisdom.
23 Then bcIsrael came to Egypt;
Jacob bdsojourned in bethe land of Ham.
24And the Lord bfmade his people very fruitful
and made them stronger than their foes.
25He bgturned their hearts to hate his people,
to bhdeal craftily with his servants.
26 He bisent Moses, his servant,
and Aaron, bjwhom he had chosen.
27 bkThey performed his signs among them
and miracles in blthe land of Ham.
28He bmsent darkness, and made the land dark;
they bndid not rebel
Septuagint, Syriac omit  not
against his words.
29He turned their waters into blood
and bpcaused their fish to die.
30Their land swarmed with frogs,
even in bqthe chambers of their kings.
31He spoke, and there came brswarms of flies,
bsand gnats throughout their country.
32He gave them hail for rain,
and fiery btlightning bolts through their land.
33He struck down their vines and fig trees,
and bushattered the trees of their country.
34He spoke, and the bvlocusts came,
young locusts without number,
35which devoured all the vegetation in their land
and ate up the fruit of their ground.
36He bwstruck down all the firstborn in their land,
bxthe firstfruits of all their strength.
37 Then he brought out Israel with bysilver and gold,
and there was none among his tribes who stumbled.
38 bzEgypt was glad when they departed,
for cadread of them had fallen upon it.
39 He cbspread a cloud for a covering,
and fire to give light by night.
40 ccThey asked, and he cdbrought quail,
and gave them cebread from heaven in abundance.
41He opened the rock, and cfwater gushed out;
it flowed through cgthe desert like a river.
42For he chremembered his holy promise,
and ciAbraham, his servant.
43 So he brought his people out with joy,
his cjchosen ones with cksinging.
44And he clgave them the lands of the nations,
and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil,
45that they might cmkeep his statutes
and cnobserve his laws.
coPraise the Lord!
