Psalms 30:11

11 You have turned for me my mourning into adancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,

Amos 6:4-7

4 “Woe to those bwho lie on cbeds of ivory
dand stretch themselves out on their couches,
and eat lambs from the flock
eand calves from the midst of the stall,
5 fwho sing idle songs to the sound of the harp
and like David ginvent for themselves instruments of music,
6 hwho drink wine in bowls
and ianoint themselves with the finest oils,
but are not grieved over the ruin of Joseph!
7 jTherefore they shall now be the first of those who go into exile,
and the revelry of those who stretch themselves out shall pass away.”

Amos 8:10

10 kI will turn your feasts into mourning
and all your songs into lamentation;
lI will bring sackcloth on every waist
mand baldness on every head;
nI will make it like the mourning for an only son
and the end of it like a bitter day.

James 4:9-10

9 oBe wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 pHumble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
