Into Your Hand I Commit My Spirit

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

1 aIn you, O Lord, do I btake refuge;
clet me never be put to shame;
in your drighteousness deliver me!

Psalms 69:7-12

7For it is efor your sake that I have borne reproach,
that dishonor has covered my face.
8I have become fa stranger to my brothers,
an alien to my mother’s sons.
9 For gzeal for your house has consumed me,
and hthe reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.
10When I wept and humbled
Hebrew lacks  and humbled
my soul with fasting,
it became my reproach.
11When I made jsackcloth my clothing,
I became ka byword to them.
12I am the talk of those who lsit in the gate,
and the drunkards make msongs about me.

Psalms 69:19-20

19 You know my nreproach,
and my shame and my dishonor;
my foes are all known to you.
20 oReproaches have broken my heart,
so that I am in pdespair.
I qlooked for rpity, but there was none,
and for scomforters, but I found none.

Psalms 88:8

8 You have caused tmy companions to shun me;
you have made me ua horror
Or an abomination
to them.
I am wshut in so that I cannot escape;

Isaiah 49:7

7 Thus says the Lord,
xthe Redeemer of Israel and his Holy One,
yto one deeply despised, abhorred by the nation,
the servant of rulers:
zKings shall see and arise;
princes, and they shall prostrate themselves;
because of the Lord, who is faithful,
the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

Isaiah 53:3

by men,
a man of sorrows,

and as one from whom men hide their faces
Or  as one who hides his face from us

he was despised, and agwe esteemed him not.

Lamentations 3:30

30 ahlet him give his cheek to the one who strikes,
and let him be filled with insults.
