Psalms 32

Blessed Are the Forgiven

A Maskil
Probably a musical or liturgical term
of David.

1 bBlessed is the one whose ctransgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
2Blessed is the man against whom the Lord dcounts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit ethere is no deceit.
3 For when I kept silent, my fbones wasted away
through my ggroaning all day long.
4For day and night your hhand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up
Hebrew  my vitality was changed
as by the heat of summer.  Selah
5 I jacknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I kwill confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.  Selah
6 Therefore let everyone who is lgodly
offer prayer to you at a time when you mmay be found;
surely in the rush of ngreat waters,
they shall not reach him.
7You are a ohiding place for me;
you preserve me from ptrouble;
you surround me with qshouts of deliverance.  Selah
8 I will rinstruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will scounsel you with my eye upon you.
9 tBe not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with ubit and bridle,
or it will not stay near you.
10 vMany are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who wtrusts in the Lord.
11 xBe glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,
and yshout for joy, all you zupright in heart!
