16 aThe king is not saved by his great army;a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17 bThe war horse is a false hope for salvation,

Woe to Those Who Go Down to Egypt
1 Woe to cthose who go down to Egypt for helpand rely on horses,
who dtrust in chariots because they are many
and in horsemen because they are very strong,
but edo not look to the Holy One of Israel
or consult the Lord!
Isaiah 37:24-25
24By your servants you have mocked the Lord,and you have said, fWith my many chariots
I have gone up the heights of the mountains,
to the far recesses of Lebanon,
gto cut down its tallest cedars,
its choicest cypresses,
to come to its remotest height,
its most fruitful forest.
25I dug wells
and drank waters,
to dry up with the sole of my foot
