Psalms 35:1-3

Great Is the Lord

Of David.

1 Contend, O Lord, with those who ^acontend with me;
^bfight against those who fight against me!
2 Take hold of ^cshield and buckler
and rise for my help!
3 Draw the spear and javelin ^{▼▼Or and close the way}
against my pursuers!
Say to my soul,
“I am your salvation!”

Psalms 35:17

17 How long, O Lord, will you ^elook on?
Rescue me from their destruction,
^fmy precious life from the lions!

Psalms 35:19

19 ^gLet not those rejoice over me
who are ^hwrongfully my foes,
and let not those ⁱwink the eye
who ^jhate me ^kwithout cause.

Psalms 35:22-25

22 ^lYou have seen, O Lord; ^mbe not silent!
O Lord, ⁿbe not far from me!
23 Awake and ^orouse yourself for ^pmy vindication,
for my cause, my God and my Lord!
24 ^qVindicate me, O Lord, my God,
according to your righteousness,
and ^rlet them not rejoice over me!
25 Let them not say in their hearts,
^s“Aha, our heart’s desire!”
Let them not say, ^t“We have swallowed him up.”
