Psalms 37:13-40

13but the Lord alaughs at the wicked,
for he sees that his bday is coming.
14 The wicked draw the sword and cbend their bows
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose dway is upright;
15their sword shall enter their own heart,
and their ebows shall be broken.
16 fBetter is the little that the righteous has
than the abundance of many wicked.
17For gthe arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord hupholds the righteous.
18 The Lord iknows the days of the blameless,
and their jheritage will remain forever;
19they are not put to shame in evil times;
in kthe days of famine they have abundance.
20 But the wicked will perish;
the enemies of the Lord are like lthe glory of the pastures;
they vanish—like msmoke they vanish away.
21 The wicked borrows but does not pay back,
but the righteous nis generous and gives;
22for those blessed by the Lord
Hebrew  by him
shall pinherit the land,
but those cursed by him qshall be cut off.
23 The rsteps of a man are sestablished by the Lord,
when he delights in his way;
24 tthough he fall, he shall not be cast headlong,
for the Lord uupholds his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or his children vbegging for bread.
26He is ever wlending generously,
and his children become a blessing.
27 xTurn away from evil and do good;
so shall you ydwell forever.
28For the Lord zloves justice;
he will not forsake his aasaints.
They are preserved forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be abcut off.
29The righteous shall inherit the land
and acdwell upon it forever.
30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom,
and his tongue speaks justice.
31 adThe law of his God is in his heart;
his aesteps do not slip.
32 The wicked afwatches for the righteous
and seeks to put him to death.
33The Lord will not agabandon him to his power
or let him ahbe condemned when he is brought to trial.
34 aiWait for the Lord and keep his way,
and he will exalt you to inherit the land;
you will look on ajwhen the wicked are cut off.
35 akI have seen a wicked, ruthless man,
spreading himself like ala green laurel tree.
The identity of this tree is uncertain

36But he passed away,
Or  But one passed by
and behold, aohe was no more;
though I sought him, he could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless and behold the upright,
for there is a future for the man of appeace.
38But aqtransgressors shall be altogether destroyed;
the future of the wicked arshall be cut off.
39 asThe salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in atthe time of trouble.
40The Lord helps them and audelivers them;
avhe delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they awtake refuge in him.
