so long as the wicked are in my presence.”

21 eDeath and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Matthew 12:35-37

35 fThe good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. 36I tell you, gon the day of judgment hpeople will give account for ievery careless word they speak, 37for jby your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

James 1:19

Hearing and Doing the Word

19 kKnow this, my beloved brothers: let every person lbe quick to hear, mslow to speak, nslow to anger;

James 1:26

26If anyone thinks he is religious oand does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s preligion is worthless.

James 3:2

2For qwe all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, rhe is a perfect man, sable also to bridle his whole body.

James 3:5-10

5So also the tongue is a small member, yet tit boasts of great things.

How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!
6And uthe tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, vstaining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life,
Or wheel of birth
and set on fire by hell.
Greek Gehenna
7For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, 8but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, yfull of deadly poison. 9With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people zwho are made in the likeness of God. 10From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters; also verse 12
these things ought not to be so.
