Answer Me When I Call
To the achoirmaster: with bstringed instruments. A Psalm of David.
1 Answer me when I call, O God of my crighteousness!You have dgiven me relief when I was in distress.
Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!
2 O men, ▼
▼Or O men of rank
how long shall my honor be turned into shame?How long will you love vain words and seek after flies? Selah
3But know that the Lord has gset apart hthe godly for himself;
the Lord hears when I call to him.
4 iBe angry, ▼
▼Or Be agitated
and do not sin;kponder in your own hearts lon your beds, and be silent. Selah
5Offer mright sacrifices,
and put your ntrust in the Lord.
6 There are many who say, “Who will show us some good?
oLift up pthe light of your face upon us, O Lord!”
7You have put qmore joy in my heart
than they have when their grain and wine abound.
8 In peace I will both rlie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me sdwell in safety.

The Righteous Will Never Be Moved

uPraise the Lord!vBlessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who wgreatly delights in his commandments!
2His xoffspring will be mighty in the land;
ythe generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 zWealth and riches are in his house,
and his aarighteousness endures forever.
4Light dawns in the darkness abfor the upright;
he is gracious, merciful, and acrighteous.
5It is well with the man who addeals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice.
6For the righteous will aenever be moved;
afhe will be remembered forever.
7He is not agafraid of bad news;
his ahheart is firm, aitrusting in the Lord.
8His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
9He has ajdistributed freely; he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever;
his akhorn is exalted in honor.
10The wicked man sees it and is angry;
he algnashes his teeth and ammelts away;
anthe desire of the wicked will perish!
