Jeremiah 17:5-7

5 Thus says the Lord:
“Cursed is the man ⁱwho trusts in man

whose heart turns away from the Lord.
6 ^kHe is like a shrub in the desert,
^land shall not see any good come.
He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness,

Micah 7:5-7

have no confidence in a friend;

6 for ^sthe son treats the father with contempt,
the daughter rises up against her mother,
the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
^ta man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
7 But as for me, I will look to the Lord;
